Mike and Katie's Alpine Adventures, Days 3 & 4 (Munich, Klagenfurt & Sting!)

Our trip continued on Saturday in Munich as we again traveled on the double-decker hop-on, hop-off city bus and took the red and blue lines to see the Opera house, the Marienplatz, the Deutsches Museum, the English Garden, as well as other interesting sites. We found a nice little gluten-free pizza place for dinner, which hit the spot!

On Sunday 7/17 we packed up, said goodbye to our Munich hotel and hopped aboard a train for a five hour ride to Klagenfurt Austria, near the Slovenian border. We decided that it would be fun to catch a concert in the area...if anyone good was performing. It just so happened that Sting was playing in the soccer stadium in Klagenfurt, and the opportunity to see him was too good to pass up! After we arrived in town, we took a taxi to our rental apartment, ate dinner at a tasty Croatian restaurant next door, and walked 15 minutes to the stadium. We had 13th row seats and Sting was in fine form! He played for over two hours and focused on his greatest hits from both the Police and his solo work.

Today we are headed back to the train station and traveling to Salzburg Austria where our guided tour will begin tonight.

Until then, auf wiedersehen!!
