Bon jour and welcome to the last post for Mike and Katie's Tour de France.
After a stunning sunset brought our time in Arles to a close last Monday evening, we were back on the road Tuesday. Our first stop was a quick visit to the afternoon market in Aix en Provence. From there we traveled to our final destination, Nice on the French Riviera. We spent the rest of Tuesday enjoying the view of the Mediterranean from our room!
On Wednesday we took a bus tour of Nice and Villefranche Sur Mer and dipped our toes in the sea later that day. The beaches are quite rocky here and challenging to walk on.
On Thursday we drove to Cannes and Antibes. In Cannes we checked out where they have the international film festival and saw some hand prints of some of some famous film stars. BTW, Katie looked fabulous on the red carpet! In Antibes we visited the market and did some shopping.
On Friday we took a day trip to Monaco and rubbed elbows with the rich and famous in the Monte Carlo casino. Unfortunately we couldn't get past the lobby because Mike did not meet the dress code standards! We also celebrated our fourth anniversary by having a wonderful dinner back in Nice.
We have had a wonderful trip, and we are happy that we could share some of our experiences with you! Back home to reality on Monday.
